William 'Bill' BodineWilliam "Bill" Bodine

“If you knew what I know about the power of giving, you would not let a single meal pass without sharing it in some way”
- Buddha

Some of Bill's most insightful moments have occurred in the midst of sharing conversation, specifically the art of debate and especially when he has proposed a view point, which differed from his own. For Bill, the ability to understand other points of view is crucial to creating successful outcomes and sensible solutions.

His capacity to connect and interpret disparate elements has come in handy in the various roles Bill has played, since coming to work at e-Management more than 11 years ago. Making sense of technical data is daunting, but it requires exceptional communications and personal insight to explain complex technical concepts to people who are focused on the business rather than the technology. For Bill, the process of successfully implementing technology into effective systems requires understanding how users feel about technology and creating a plan of action that tailors the experience to provide a successful path forward for every customer.

Bill's positive energy and focus were the driving force behind his work at a full-time job while also attending Fairleigh Dickinson University and the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) where he studied Political Science and Information Technology (IT), ultimately earning his Bachelor of Science in Computer Studies from UMUC. During his time at Fairleigh Dickinson, he honed the skill of persuasion through presenting well thought out arguments. His exceptional ability to get a point across with grace and wit caught the attention of the University. Four of his political science professors sponsored his membership in Pi Sigma Alpha (the National Political Science Honor Society)—an honor rarely given to undergraduate students.

Bill's ability to solve problems and communicate effectively became critical when he started his career at AT&T. There, he implemented IT solutions to support business processes as both a database administrator and project lead in Virginia and New Jersey. Bill continued his career with Dyncorp as a database administrator and web developer supporting the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Environmental Management (EM) mission systems and public facing website prior to joining e-Management in 2003.

Today, Bill's leadership skills and 19 years of experience implementing enterprise IT systems are critical to his success in his new role as the Vice President of Government Programs, Energy Solutions for e-Management. For Bill, service is ultimately about creating and increasing value. He volunteers for his alma mater’s Frederick High School Football Program. He also serves on the Leadership Team for the Frederick Giving Project. This non-profit organization based in Frederick County, MD gives grants and provides volunteer service projects to multiply the impact within the community.

During this free time, Bill loves spending time with his family and friends. An avid travel buff, he enjoys cruising around the world because everywhere the ship docks offers an opportunity to experience something new and exciting. Bill's passion for life and desire to serve effectively find profound expression in one of his favorite quotes:

“Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.”  — Albert Einstein
