e-Management and A Wider Circle make the final cut for Washington Business Journal’s Corporate Philanthropy Award

May 15, 2013 – e-Management and its nonprofit partner, A Wider Circle, are finalists for the MassMutual Citizenship Award, which is a component of the Washington Business Journal’s Corporate Philanthropy Program. The award honors partnerships between local businesses and nonprofits that help families and children. The Washington Business Journal will announce winners at a ceremony in Washington, D.C., June 6, 2013.

According to Ms. Sage, e-Management has a culture of giving back that started from the company’s inception. She added that the company currently donates a certain percentage of its profits to charitable organizations, including A Wider Circle. Over the years, e-Management and its employees have also volunteered hundreds of hours to several local and national non-profit organizations. The Washington Business Journal’s Citizenship Award nomination validates e-Management’s official commitment to corporate responsibility.

The Washington Business Journal’s MassMutual Citizenship Award honors the “most active and inspiring partnerships between local businesses and nonprofits” in the Washington, D.C., region. In addition to e-Management and A Wider Circle, other finalists include Altum Inc. and Helping Hungry Kids; Reed Smith LLP and the Northern Virginia Therapeutic Riding Program; and Sagatov Associates Inc. and Doorways for Women and Families.

Dr. Mark Bergel founded A Wider Circle in 2001 with a mission to lift adults and children out of poverty. Named “one of the best charities” by the Catalogue for Philanthropy, A Wider Circle is a local non-profit organization based in Silver Spring, Md. One of A Wider Circle’s largest programs is Neighbor-to-Neighbor, which provides furniture and home items to families in need.
